Honkai: Star Rail Sparkle PV Exposed for Frame-by-Frame Copying Classic Anime & Films — Creator Turns Out to Be Former MAD Editor, Comments Go Nuclear

0 热度

When a character PV's storyboard is stitched together entirely from classic films and anime, is it an homage or outright plagiarism? That's the explosive question NGA users raised about Honkai: Star Rail's Sparkle (花火) character PV, tearing it apart frame by frame.

The OP posted multiple side-by-side comparison screenshots, placing shots from the Sparkle PV right next to scenes from various anime and live-action films. The camera angles, character positioning, and composition were eerily identical — some pairs looking like direct overlays.

The OP held nothing back, calling the creator 'a Frankenstein stitcher with skills but no brains' and questioning how they dared to publicly take credit for the PV. Commenters pointed out references spanning from Future Diary (the iconic character Yuno) to Vocaloid songs like "King." The damning list of 'borrowed' sources kept growing as more eyes scrutinized the footage.

But here's the real plot twist that caught everyone off guard: multiple commenters (Floors 5 and 14) independently revealed that the PV creator's background is in making MAD (Music Anime Douga) — fan-made anime music videos. In the MAD community, borrowing shot compositions is practically an art form. But this is an official commercial PV for one of the biggest gacha games in the world — a very different ballpark.

Community reactions split hard. Floor 1 dropped a savage sarcastic quip: 'This is our homage! Have YOU ever seen an homage like THIS? This is stitchy-stitch-merge-merge!' — turning the word 'homage' (致敬) into pure meme material. Floor 9 tried to be more measured, acknowledging that borrowing character designs is forgivable, but argued that copying storyboard compositions — the very soul of what makes a PV exciting — is a bridge too far. 'At least put SOMETHING original in there,' they pleaded.

But the comment that truly went viral was Floor 10's devastating one-liner: 'miHoYo NOT plagiarizing would be the real scandal' — implying that copying is just par for the course at this point. Floor 13 doubled down with a brain-melting logical paradox: 'If they had even a shred of originality, it wouldn't be the case that they have absolutely none.'

Floor 7 warned that this thread would inevitably get reposted to Bilibili, and that the Shouzong (手综, anime/manga/otaku content) board had already hosted similar discussions. Floors 17-18 took a different angle entirely, digging through the OP's post history and discovering they'd posted similar content on both the Honkai board and Shouzong — both threads got locked — before landing here in the general discussion section. The implication: the OP might be a serial complainer with an agenda. Meanwhile, Floor 16's weary 'Brothers are tired, brothers don't want to play cop anymore' perfectly captured the exhaustion of a community that's seen too many of these dramas.

The thread has since been locked or restricted on multiple boards, but the comparison screenshots have already spread far and wide across the community. The age-old debate of 'homage vs. plagiarism' rages on, and this Sparkle PV just became the latest exhibit in the eternal case file.
