], "en": [
Collab skins drop every year, but this year's is something special — and not in a good way. Mahjong Soul and Blue Archive (BA) just unveiled a new qipao skin for fan-favorite character Shiroko, and instead of the usual "awww," players collectively hit the confused-old-man-looking-at-phone meme. That face... was it photoshopped on?
The original poster nailed it: "Yostar probably looked at the CN server's measly 40k blood drain and thought 'we need to squeeze harder.'" The implication? This collab skin is a blatant cash grab — and an increasingly ugly one at that.

The detail that really set players off: each new collab skin features progressively less fabric. Side-by-side comparisons show a clear "cloth reduction" trajectory from earlier skins to this latest Shiroko qipao. As one commenter put it: "Looks like she's not wearing anything down there" — to which another shot back with the legendary reply: "Why would she need to?"

Beyond the wardrobe situation, players absolutely roasted the art quality itself. Top-voted comments called it "a photoshopped head — ugly and off-character," while others lamented "the earlier illustration was okay, but this one is genuinely bad — total head-swap bandit (接头霸王)." That last term is classic ACG slang for when a character's head and body look like they belong to two different drawings awkwardly stitched together.
To be fair, some players tried to offer perspective: one noted that "Mahjong Soul's collab skins have always been like this — aside from the Code Geass one, none of them match the characters' actual personalities, and janky anatomy plus mismatched heads is basically their signature at this point." In other words, this isn't Shiroko's personal tragedy — it's a systemic issue.
Then came the blame game. Someone pointed fingers at Yostar (BA's CN publisher), and was immediately countered with "Yostar? Isn't CatFood Studio responsible for the skins?" Another player helpfully clarified: "CatFood is an independent studio — if you're unhappy, please direct your outrage at CatFood, thanks." Translation: don't come for my publisher, go yell at the artists.
The comment section eventually devolved into a collective mourning session from the "Senseis" (what BA players call the protagonist). Highlights include: "Sensei never saw Shiroko wear THIS qipao," "Hey Sensei, this is for mahjong players — get lost," "I can't even imagine how heartbroken Sensei is right now," and the pièce de résistance: "Stop staring, Senseis — go do your Total Assault." Tragic and hilarious in equal measure.
