Snowbreak Completely Absent from Kingsoft Q1 Earnings — Earnings Call Hints at "Shutdown & Transfer" as Resources Move to Mecharashi

Kingsoft's Q1 2026 earnings report just dropped, and Snowbreak: Containment Zone (尘白禁区) is completely absent from the entire document — but the real bombshell is buried in the earnings call transcript.

Kingsoft chairman Lei Jun stated in the report: "Our gaming business focuses on premium titles and long-term operations, increasing investment in core existing games while actively expanding into new titles." CEO Zou Tao specifically name-dropped Goose Goose Duck (鹅鸭杀) and JX3 (剑网3) as the group's core games. Snowbreak? Not a single mention.

However, the truly explosive part came from the earnings call Q&A. According to community summaries, a journalist asked about the company's strategy of "shutdown and transfer" (关停并转) for resource reallocation. Management responded: "We'd say we're focusing our strength — we'll make adjustments to projects that don't have strategic development potential, whether old or new. The market has already been seeing these moves."

Players were quick to point out that "关停并转" (shutdown, halt, merge, transfer) is a well-known euphemism from China's 1990s SOE reform era — it essentially means closing down unprofitable operations. When management said "old and new projects," they were clearly referring to Snowbreak (old) and Mecharashi/解限机 (new). Combined with the fact that Snowbreak already stopped all marketing after its two-month shutdown earlier this year, the writing is on the wall.

Adding salt to the wound, a reply in the thread unearthed Mecharashi's latest Season 4 promotional materials — Snowbreak characters Fuetia (芙提雅), Chenxing (辰星), and Meowster (猫汐尔) have already been "poached" and now appear front-and-center in Mecharashi's marketing. One player quipped: "Our crown prince (referring to Seasun's flagship title) is actually picking up someone else's hand-me-downs?"

The comment section was a sea of grief. One player declared "it's already dead," another lamented "the day has finally come," while someone pointed out that Snowbreak was still "in maintenance" during March — so technically its Q1 revenue could still show growth by comparison (since there was barely anything to compare against). Others predicted it might "drag on until year-end" but noted that "whether they mention it or not is the same — either way it's on life support."

Some players also questioned whether Mecharashi itself can handle the influx — "Season 4 didn't even add new mechs, just a roguelike mode" — casting doubt on whether the transferred resources will be put to good use. Meanwhile, one soul asked the real question: "Where's that promised billion-yuan profit?" — a reference to Snowbreak's once-lofty commercial promises that have now evaporated into thin air.
