'Blue Archive is totally safe' — a legendary piece of irony that's been memed to death in the gacha community. And now, it's been thoroughly debunked yet again. This time, the culprit is Mahjong Soul (雀魂), which just revealed collaboration skins for four beloved Blue Archive characters: Shiroko, Hoshino, Mutsuki, and Aru. The new outfits are significantly more revealing than anything BA itself has ever shipped.

The leaked art left very little to the imagination. The top reply nailed it instantly: 'Way more fanservice-y than BA — looks like they're only wearing band-aids.' Another player posted a screenshot captioned 'very safe' (很安全), deploying the community's favorite sarcastic catchphrase with surgical precision.

The comment section quickly devolved into a full-blown meme fest. One commenter pointed out: 'Fair's fair, Water Uncle (Hoshino's fan nickname) is still wearing even less,' complete with a comparison image — a reference to Hoshino's already-fanservicey base design in BA.
Not everyone was joking around, though. One comment took a sharper angle: 'This is what happens when Japanese-Korean gacha games get mixed up with Shanghai capital' — a pointed jab at Yostar, the Shanghai-based publisher behind BA's global and Chinese versions, implying they've pushed the game's commercialization toward more aggressive fanservice. That take got quickly buried under the avalanche of memes, though.
The Hoshino discourse was particularly entertaining. One player tried to defend her honor: 'Hoshino is just a lazy person who likes napping in bed — she's NOT doing what you degenerates think she's doing.' The response was immediate and devastating: 'Sure, and her clothes showing her butt is just for convenience, nothing suggestive about it.' Another commenter quoted the collab's in-game dialogue: 'Sensei, you've never seen me wear this qipao before~' — masterfully blending character voice with the community's running jokes.

Shiroko's redesign also sparked creative commentary. 'Shiroko, put your hair up!' one fan declared, prompting a literary callback to a famous Chinese folk song: 'Who pinned up your long hair, who made your wedding dress — the pain, the unbearable pain.' The same commenter then pivoted to asking if anyone had commissioned the rumored NTR doujinshi — because of course that's where a gacha player's mind goes next.
To be fair, not everyone was focused on the thirst factor. One pragmatist rated the skins purely on aesthetics: 'Honestly speaking, these look better than Mahjong Soul's original old-man skins' — so at least the art quality is objectively solid, questionable wardrobe choices notwithstanding.
Bottom line: the Mahjong Soul × Blue Archive collab has delivered exactly the kind of unhinged community energy you'd expect. The 'Blue Archive is really safe' meme continues to age like milk, the comment section is still going strong, and somewhere, a community manager is probably having a very bad day.
