Manjuu's New Game Mascot Girl Officially Revealed — Players Roast Her as 'AI-Generated Slop,' Say She Looks Too Young and Lacks Personality

Manjuu Network — the studio behind Azur Lane (nicknamed 'Yellow Chicken' by the CN community) — has finally shown concrete progress on their new game: the official mascot girl has been revealed! But instead of hype, the reveal kicked off a wave of roasting across the player community.

Based on the leaked details, the game is positioned as a 'Star Pet Companion × Fantasy Open World' — a title that screams anime-style open-world adventure. When someone asked about the genre, a commenter analyzed: 'With this art style, it's probably fantasy, and fantasy games are nine times out of ten turn-based.' Another shot back immediately: 'Turn-based open world?' — an eyebrow-raising combo that has people scratching their heads.

But the real battlefield was the character design itself. A top-voted comment went straight for the jugular: 'She looks way too young — we want adult female characters.' Another user helpfully 'translated' what the community really means: 'adult' (with emphasis on 'well-endowed') — essentially exposing the typical gacha player's unfiltered desires.

Beyond the age debate, the character's design quality got roasted hard. One commenter declared: 'This avatar literally looks like it came out of an alchemy furnace — zero personality.' The 'alchemy furnace' (炼丹炉) is CN gamer slang for AI image generation — basically calling the art soulless AI slop. Another player zoomed in and noted: 'It feels unfinished, and the eyelashes look like they were drawn by Artist K' — even speculating on the specific illustrator behind the work.

The reveal's rollout timing also drew skepticism. One user pointed out: 'Yesterday's Weibo post was a leak — how do you know today's Bilibili drop isn't also a leak? They'll just milk another wave later.' Players also pressed on the most important question: 'When's the first PV dropping? If the mascot is already here, can we expect a launch by end of 2026?' — no official answer yet.

Overall, this mascot reveal managed to generate buzz, but not the kind Manjuu was hoping for. The character was criticized for lacking distinctiveness and looking suspiciously AI-generated, while the game's genre still needs clarification. As an early-stage reveal, things could certainly improve — but if this mascot was meant to manage player expectations, Manjuu still has a long way to go.
