Bilibili Whistleblower Who Exposed Girls' Frontline Writer's Fake Degree Gets Banned — Players Say That Proves It's Real

You'd think the biggest gaming drama would be about bad game design? No — someone exposed the designer's shady background, then got banned for it. And that ban? It only made everyone believe the leak more.

A Bilibili content creator known as 'Quartz Squad Captain' publicly alleged that a writer on Girls' Frontline (developed by Sunborn/MICA Team) holds a dubious 'watered-down' master's degree from SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London), and repeatedly mocked the game's writing quality in videos. The creator had previously gone on a revelation spree, dropping internal tea in comment sections.

According to forum users, this person wasn't the writer themselves but was mocking them. One commenter noted: 'Yesterday he dropped a ton of dirt in the comments under Old Ye's post.' However, after the third re-upload, the account was permanently banned.

On NGA (a major Chinese gaming forum), the reaction was overwhelmingly unanimous: the ban actually confirmed the leaks were real. Top-voted comments like 'Getting put on the hit list proves it's legit,' 'This just tripled the credibility,' and 'One account nuked, one banned — the proof level just went through the roof' became the consensus. Some even quoted in-game dialogue: 'Humans won't lose to dolls — Quartz Captain!' — a famous line from the character's sacrifice scene, now repurposed as tribute to the whistleblower.

Crucially, this ban didn't happen in a vacuum. Users pointed out that the official game account had been 'mobbed by nearly 20,000 comments' days earlier, and the community team was 'deleting comments until 3 AM.' One user quoted a line from another game: 'This hit them right in the jugular.'

What really set players off was the company's total silence — no apology, no acknowledgment, nothing. Speculation ran wild about a possible personal relationship between the writer and company leadership. Comments like 'This "Six O'Clock Sister" must be some exec's useless trust-fund kid they parachuted into Sunborn' and 'I genuinely cannot think of any reason Yu Zhong would shield this writer other than a romantic relationship' were widespread.

Players now believe Sunborn's internal situation has reached 'palace coup levels of white-hot' — with alleged insiders reportedly joining the NGA discussion themselves. 'MICA Team Palace Drama 2.0 — let them fight!' has become a rallying cry. This chain reaction, all sparked by one banned Bilibili account, is far from over.
