Girls' Frontline 2 Goes Full 1984 on Launch Day: 'Raymond' Banned as Character Name, Players Frantically Test Every Possible Variant

0 热度

On Day One of Girls' Frontline 2's new '追访' (Pursuit) version launch, before players could even try the new content, they stumbled upon something hilariously telling — the word '雷蒙' (Raymond) is now officially a banned term in the character naming system.

For the uninitiated: Raymond (雷蒙) is a male NPC in GF2's storyline who became ground zero for the game's infamous NTR (Netorare) controversy. His romantic subplot with the character '黛烟' (Daiyan) — a character many players considered their waifu — triggered a massive community meltdown that nearly tanked the game's reputation. Now the devs have quietly blacklisted his name. The implication speaks for itself.

The comment section erupted immediately. One player quipped 'This is literally "No silver buried here" energy' — a Chinese idiom (此地无银三百两) meaning the more you try to hide something, the more obvious it becomes. Others started testing workarounds: 'What about 雷普姚蒙?' — trying to split the characters to dodge the filter. Replies poured in: 'Watch, they probably banned 雷普 and 姚蒙 separately too.'

Things got progressively more unhinged. Someone asked 'What about 派蒙 (Paimon)?' — the beloved mascot from Genshin Impact, repurposed here as a test dummy. Others went full English: 'Can you name yourself Raymond?' 'What about RayMond?' Then the absolute madlad in reply #17 dropped a screenshot proving that the English 'Raymond' works just fine. The Chinese version is banned but the English original sails through — peak spaghetti filter logic.

The creative chaos continued: 'Is 蒙德夫人 (Mondstadt's Madam) okay?' 'Did they ban 泡芙 (Puff)?' 'What about 雷雷又蒙蒙?' And the absolute galaxy-brain take: 'Open your mind — 雷猛干 (Thunder Fierce Dry) also works!' As for the brave soul in reply #16 who said 'I tried it and it actually worked, holy shit am I gonna get hunted down and banned?' — Godspeed, soldier.

One player summed up the real burn: 'GF2's launch has zero hype — not even the meme lords are bothering to claim troll names.' Translation: when even trolls don't care enough to grief your game, you know the player base is in trouble.
