A community stir has emerged following a revelation by a user known as 'Hell Fork' (地狱叉). The user previously published a 15,000-word essay critically dissecting the writing and development of the Dendro Archon (Nahida). Ironically, despite the highly critical tone, the essay was awarded the 'Professional Award' in the Zhihu Genshin Impact 3.6 Creative Incentive Program, accompanied by a 3,000 RMB prize.
The program was originally intended to reward content that is 'neutral' and 'positive' in its discussion. However, giving such an award to a piece centered on extreme dissatisfaction with character writing created a massive irony within the community.
Users have quickly labeled this a 'boomerang' effect (a slang term for when a situation backfires on the creator). While many fans admit the article itself is well-argued and articulate—so much so that it spawned various copycat rebuttal pieces—the community is laughing at the official verification process. Critics jokingly remarked, 'Is MiHoYo actually encouraging us to write more hate-posts?'
