Just before the official launch of the Chinese server for Blue Archive, the developers issued an unexpected notice regarding adjustments to character art. The affected characters include Tsubaki, Hasumi, Kotori, Asuna, Hibiki, Shimiko, Hina, and Shiroko. The team apologized and promised a compensation package of 10 recruitment tickets and 1200 pyroxenes.

Based on player feedback, while some changes were subtle—like the removal of the cross on Shiroko’s bag or the removal of cross and gold flower patterns from Hina’s skirt—others involved more blatant 'clothing additions,' such as adding an undershirt (goro-mune) to Tsubaki.

This move triggered a wave of frustration in the comments section. Players joked, 'It’s being censored even before the servers go live!' Many expressed deep skepticism toward the publisher's long-term transparency, questioning if future characters would follow a pattern of 'pre-emptive censorship' before release. The community is visibly tired of this 'death by a thousand cuts' approach to content regulation.
