Shadowverse Fans Go to Great Lengths: AI-Generated 'Ambiguous Screenshots' Trick the Community

0 热度

The latest episode of the Shadowverse anime brought back popular game cards alongside the controversial protagonists from the first season, featuring interactions that felt heavily 'shippy' (romance-focused). The animation style already leans toward ambiguity, sparking wild imaginations among the fanbase.

In an effort to get more people to watch the show, fans used AI to process card artwork into 'ambiguous screenshots' that look exactly like scenes from the anime. They went as far as creating authentic-looking subtitles to make the hoax believable.

When these images hit the community, the effect was immediate. Most people were completely fooled, assuming an intense, unexpected plot twist had actually occurred in the show.

While the images featured watermarks from actual 'fansub' groups (who translate anime, often referred to as 'kaorou' or 'meat grilling' in Chinese internet slang), it was later confirmed that the fansubs had nothing to do with it. It was simply a prank among friends. Comments ranged from 'You're wicked for this' to amazement at the rapid advancement of AI image generation.
