Recently, Brown Dust 2 underwent its first major update since launch. While the developers promised to address long-standing issues, the update brought a fresh harvest of controversy. First, the PVP season matchmaking was completely broken, leading to mismatched ranks and suspicion of ranking exploits. The developers had to reset the season, offering only negligible compensation.

Even more infuriating was the priority of bug fixes: developers rushed to fix an economy bug where gold drops were multiplied by 100, but ignored game-breaking character bugs. Furthermore, an early exploit allowing players to get a max-star character was hand-waved away with a vague promise that lacked concrete action.

Looking back at the launch, the game has been a train wreck of mismanagement: daily missions yielded no gacha currency until the developers finally 'kowtowed' (跪滑 - prostrated/apologized under pressure) to add 60 diamonds per day; promised free characters from the main story were cut; and signature weapons featured random stats, making them a nightmare for grinders. To sum up: top-tier art and music, mediocre story, and everything else is a masterclass in bad operations.

The community is furious. Players complain about frequent disconnections, impossible-to-complete tasks, and slashed rewards from the beta phase. One user aptly noted, 'This isn't just testing the bottom line; it's dancing on it.' Despite the beautiful art, these continuous operational blunders have left the player base deeply disillusioned.
