Recently, the Japanese Twitter account for ZLONGAME's 'Archeland' (which launched on June 13) held a giveaway, but the promo art caused a stir. Alert fans quickly noticed that the character in the promotional image was significantly different from the in-game model.

Comparing it to the in-game assets, the discrepancies were glaring: the mask, chest accessories, and even the hair color didn't match the original character design at all. It was clearly a piece of 'AI generated content' that hadn't been manually corrected.

The community reacted with skepticism. Some players pointed out that hiring a high-quality illustrator is expensive, so using AI is a 'cost-cutting measure.' Many believe that ZLONGAME, being a traditional gaming giant, isn't held back by the 'moral baggage' of the ACG subculture (often referred to as 'er-you'—niche anime-style games). Critics argue that since the company has its own internal art team (shown below), it's lazy to rely on AI for promotion without even fixing the obvious errors. In the eyes of many, trying to capture the anime game market while cutting corners on artistic quality is simply poor form.
