Tencent seems to have finally set its sights on the party game genre, officially revealing 'Project Paradise'—a move widely interpreted as a direct challenge to NetEase's hit game, 'Eggy Party.' Based on leaked questionnaires and preview images, Tencent is shifting away from the internal 'Super QQ Show' experiments, choosing instead to pursue a standalone title to leverage its massive social distribution channels and capture the casual, grassroots user base.

The NGA community has been buzzing with debate. Some users suggest that since party games lack a traditional 'moat' (competitive advantage), Tencent's 'copycat' strategy is business as usual in the Chinese gaming industry. Others were critical of the character designs, calling them 'awkward' and lacking the charming, rounded appeal of their competitors, describing the style as a strange hybrid of 'Fall Guys' and 'Party Animals.' Discussions also centered on whether Tencent's previous attempts to sidestep game licensing (banhao) through the 'Super QQ Show' were a tactical error and whether this new move is driven by raw market envy.
