On May 22, IGN published an article titled '10 Games Like Genshin Impact,' intending to recommend alternatives for players looking for a break. The list features: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Sonic Frontiers, Final Fantasy XIV, Persona 5, Tchia, Honkai Impact 3rd, Tales of Arise, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.

However, the list immediately triggered a backlash within the gaming community. Players were baffled by the criteria, questioning, 'What kind of logic is this?' Many believe IGN is simply 'stoking the fire' (igniting conflict), intentionally grouping completely unrelated games to provoke arguments among player bases.
