In the 'Simulated Universe' roguelike mode of HoYoverse's latest title, Honkai: Star Rail, a player recently shared a rather amusing yet frustrating incident. After depleting their 'Cosmic Fragments' to zero, the player encountered an event branch that required payment, only for the system to glitch out.
As shown in the image, the options vanished, the game displayed a 'Numerical Parameter Error,' and the UI became unresponsive. Although the player could still access the blessing menu, logging out and back in failed to resolve the soft-lock, essentially trapping them in the event and halting their progress.
The community response has been lively. While some joked that managing to spend exactly all their fragments was a feat in itself, others urged the player to file a formal complaint with customer support, hoping for some 'Primogems' (the game's premium currency) as compensation. Others noted that due to the massive popularity of HoYoverse titles, even minor technical glitches that would go unnoticed in other games often become hot topics in the Chinese community.
