Drama Alert: 'Alliance Contract', a WoW Clone, Backstabs Spenders by Nerfing Paid Items into Trash

0 热度

Today, we are looking at the drama surrounding 'Alliance Contract'. Originally released as 'AFK WoW', this mobile game is essentially a semi-idle title that blatantly copies everything from World of Warcraft—from class specs to dungeon names. Veteran WoW players can spot the derivative design instantly.

The monetization is predatory; players can spend 248 RMB (~$35 USD) on specific legendary items or skills. The entire game meta relied on a 'stacking buff' mechanic that made these purchases feel powerful. However, on March 31st, the developers unexpectedly nerfed the stacking limit. This crippled classes like Mages and Paladins, rendering expensive paid gear useless and making previously cleared content impossible to finish.

This sparked a massive community outrage. Both 'whales' (big spenders) and F2P players have joined forces to review-bomb the game, dragging its TapTap rating from 8.3 down to 5.9. Players are complaining about the lack of 'auto-clear' features—calling the experience a prison sentence—and have reported that management is banning high-spending players in private groups. Fans joked that the developers have truly mastered the 'Blizzard style' of gameplay—by 'fixing bugs' that actually made the game fun.
