【Gossip】Azur Lane 3.31 Update: Vow System Changes and Massive Censorship of Shipgirl Art

0 热度

Azur Lane has released a major update notice for March 31st. Beyond the introduction of new limited-time events, the community is in an uproar over significant changes to the 'Oath System' (the game's marriage mechanic) and widespread censorship of the character art for dozens of shipgirls and their skins.

Specifically, the oath system changes are being mockingly called 'forced monogamy.' The 'Oath Ring' has been renamed to 'Eternal Gift Box,' and the iconic diamond-studded frames previously available to all married ships have been stripped away, now restricted to displaying only one active oath at a time. Furthermore, the 'Guild' signature feature was removed, and a massive list of shipgirls—including fan favorites—had their base and dynamic art (as well as chibi models) censored.

The developers have offered 800 diamonds as compensation for these changes, but players are far from satisfied. Many speculate that the censorship is a result of increased external regulatory pressure or changes in publishing channels that stripped away the game's previous protection against such 'harmonization' (a common Chinese internet slang term for state-mandated censorship).

In the comments, players are devastated, lamenting that two of the game's core monetization pillars have effectively been destroyed. There is intense frustration regarding why even legacy, off-sale skins were subjected to this retroactive censorship. Users are sarcastically questioning if the developers are trying to enforce 'cyber-monogamy' by limiting the special marriage frames.
