On February 23rd, the official Genshin Impact team released a character PV for the 5-star character Dehya. Unlike typical character showcases, this PV resonated deeply with players for its gentle and altruistic themes, leading some to jokingly compare it to a public service announcement for 'Project Hope' (a well-known Chinese charity).

Just an hour after the video went live, a small creator on Bilibili (a popular Chinese video platform) was so moved by Dehya's story that they donated 648 RMB—the exact price of a '648' pack (a common term for the most expensive in-game purchase in Chinese gacha culture)—to the project. This act of kindness went viral, triggering a wave of philanthropic participation.

Data reveals a massive surge: between February 23rd and 26th, the number of donors to the charity project jumped from approximately 13,700 to 30,300. It is conservatively estimated that over 10,000 Genshin players participated, contributing more than 450,000 RMB to the cause.

The original poster reflected on how this perfectly illustrates a positive influence from games. In the comment section, users found it heartwarming, with some speculating that the charity staff must have been puzzled by the sudden influx of donations all labeled with the name 'Dehya'.
