Recently, the indie Wuxia game 'Wandering Sword' launched a demo on Steam. However, eagle-eyed players on the 'Heybox' platform noticed something suspicious.

Upon playing the demo, users immediately recognized that many in-game item icons were identical to those found in 'Genshin Impact'. From ham to ores, the assets were essentially copy-pasted, with some only slightly recolored or rotated.

In response to the backlash, the developers acted quickly, replacing the offending assets in a subsequent game update.

The comment section exploded with debate: some jokingly called HoYoverse (often referred to by fans as 'Mi-hu-you') a 'universal asset library,' while others criticized the common practice of asset theft in the domestic Chinese indie scene. Some forum users also pointed out that the term 'Character Stand-up' (Li-hui) was misused, and it would be more accurate to call this 'theft of game item icons'.
