In a stunning turn of events, the developers of the antique-style otome game 'Zhangmen Taimang' have reversed their decision to shut down. Moved by the player base's emotional outpouring and deep attachment to the 'Dayong' game world, the team announced that they have successfully negotiated to keep the servers running beyond the original May 8, 2023, shutdown date.

Per the latest update, the game will remain playable, but it will officially enter maintenance-only mode with no further content updates. Additionally, customer support for the game will cease. As a final gesture of gratitude, the team is issuing a farewell bundle of resources, including gacha currency, stamina, and exclusive character cosmetics.

Community members chimed in, noting that the game launched shortly after the popular 'Tears of Themis' (known in China as Weiding Shijianbu). Many shared memories of the game's unique, albeit controversial, 'faceless female protagonist' design, recalling how previous attempts by developers to draw eyes on the character were met with fierce backlash, ultimately forcing them to revert to the faceless look.
