Recently, NetEase released a farewell letter addressed to Blizzard gamers in China. In the letter, the company expressed its gratitude to the player base and stated that they hope for a day when players can return to the domestic servers.

In response, the NGA community displayed mixed emotions. Many commenters dismissed the letter as "green tea" (Chinese slang for someone appearing innocent while being manipulative, implying it is insincere PR). Others were more celebratory, using terms like "Good riddance" or "pop the champagne" to express their satisfaction with the end of the partnership.

Faced with the permanent termination of the publishing agreement, many long-time players lamented the passing of their youth, while directing their anger toward Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. A recurring sentiment in the community was the confusion over why the "ex-partner" NetEase is the one issuing these updates while Blizzard itself remains conspicuously silent.
