The messy divorce between NetEase and Blizzard has hit another nerve. According to 'The Paper,' sources close to Activision Blizzard claim the publisher is deeply 'disappointed' by the launch of the 'Veteran Server' in NetEase's title, Justice Online. Blizzard alleges the server plagiarized their IP and exploited the WoW shutdown as a 'celebratory' marketing stunt, all without their consent. They reportedly described the move as shocking and cold-hearted.

Community reactions have been polarized. Many users questioned the credibility of the 'anonymous source close to Blizzard,' noting that Blizzard burned bridges when they announced the split unilaterally back in November. While some players admit the 'deranged marketing' (a Chinese slang term for over-the-top, attention-seeking PR tactics) of Justice Online is cringe-worthy, they argue that Blizzard has no right to criticize NetEase's internal restructuring or layoffs. Others were far more hostile, mocking Blizzard's current management and suggesting they focus on fixing their own dying products rather than playing the victim.
