Today's scoop: Genshin Impact announced its new character 'Mika' on Twitter, and the character's popularity quickly propelled the name to the top of the Japanese Twitter trending list. However, this caused an accidental emotional rollercoaster for Blue Archive fans.

In Blue Archive, 'Mika' is an incredibly popular character who has yet to be released as a playable unit. Fans have even been saving in-game currency (known as 'Mika chokin' or 'Mika savings') for her anticipated arrival. With the game’s 2nd anniversary approaching, fans were hopeful, only to be met with the Genshin character instead. The frustration led to comedic outcries from the community, jokingly blaming Genshin Impact for ruining their dream.

Community members reacted with a mix of pity and laughter. Some pointed out the linguistic irony: since foreign names are written in Katakana in Japanese, identical names often cause confusion in search trends, leading to these hilarious 'misunderstanding' moments.
