Recently, the Azur Lane community has been buzzing with frustration. It all started on December 22nd, when the developers announced a 'thank-you gift' to players because the game reached the top 4 on the best-selling charts. At the time, the official announcement stated the rewards would be distributed during the 'next maintenance'.

Fast forward to January 5th, when the game underwent a new version update. Players expected to finally claim their rewards, but after the maintenance, the new announcement pushed the distribution to the 'next time' yet again. This maneuver triggered widespread ridicule, with players joking that the developers are 'redefining the meaning of next time'.

In response, the comment section exploded with the meme 'xia ci yi ding' (a popular Chinese slang roughly meaning 'sure, next time'—an excuse often used to dodge commitments). Most players believe the developers are simply stalling. Many expressed confusion, noting that 200 gems is a trivial amount, and they cannot fathom why the developers would choose to be so stingy. Others argued that regardless of whether it was an intentional attempt to be cheap or a simple clerical error, the player base should firmly 'beat up' (critique/hold accountable) the officials for any unnecessary delays.
