Recently, Papergames' new project 'Infinity Nikki' has captured the spotlight, with IGN China conducting an exclusive interview with its executive producer, Kentaro Tominaga. With a stellar track record including deep involvement in 'The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker', 'Twilight Princess', and 'Breath of the Wild', Tominaga shared that it was the unprecedented fusion of 'dress-up' and 'open-world' that drew him to the project.
Regarding gameplay, Tominaga explained that the game will grant players 'magical abilities' via special outfits—such as gliding or shrinking—to facilitate exploration, forming a core loop of collecting blueprints, crafting, and exploring. Addressing concerns about power creep (数值崩坏), he noted that while competitive dress-up contests will retain some numerical ranking elements, the focus is on using 'photo-taking' to encourage players to explore the world deeply.

The community response has been enthusiastic. While some remain skeptical of this 'fusion' (缝合) approach, others are excited by the combination of a 'Zelda' veteran's design prowess and the classic Nikki aesthetic. Some users suggested adding more casual social or simulation features, while others jokingly compared the skill-based outfit mechanics to 'Alice: Madness Returns'. Interestingly, some fans noted that savvy internet users had already 'dug up' information about the producer on Douban months ago, though the news failed to gain traction until now.
