Daotianlu Accused of Asset Theft: Is HoYoverse Becoming a Free Asset Library?

Recently, players have exposed that the mobile game 'Daotianlu' is allegedly using assets directly ripped from HoYoverse games, most notably 'Genshin Impact'. The original poster shared a screenshot, expressing frustration at the blatant disregard for copyright and accusing the developer of stealing assets at will.

In response, the community began to dig deeper into the allegations. Some users suggested that HoYoverse’s icons might have been leaked into public asset repositories long ago. Since these icons are highly recognizable and well-designed, budget-constrained 'small workshops' often resort to these unauthorized databases to save on UI development costs. One commenter remarked: 'They’ve likely been stealing from whoever they want; it’s just that HoYoverse games are so famous that everyone recognizes their assets instantly.'

Keen-eyed players found more traces of 'frankensteining' within the game: not only are there elemental symbols from 'Genshin', but also BGM tracks from 'Tale of Immortal' ('Gui Gu Ba Huang'). Some even suspected icons from 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild', though that was later debunked. This 'patchwork' design confirms that the game is likely the product of cheap UI outsourcing and a complete lack of quality control.

In the comments, users expressed their disappointment, noting that this is a common issue where low-budget developers prioritize cutting corners by pulling assets from illicit databases rather than investing in original artistic design.
