The Japanese server of Arknights recently launched its 3rd Anniversary event. While players expected a synchronized update with the Chinese server's May version, many features seemed incomplete. The biggest grievance is the absence of the 'Annihilation Skip' feature, which is vital for player retention in the Chinese version. (Note: 'Annihilation' is a grindy mode requiring 1 hour of AFK time, and 'Skip' is a quality-of-life feature to complete it instantly).

Initial player theories suggested that the 'time-traveling' update—a term used by the community to describe patching in older content—failed to account for regional server mechanics. Players vented their frustration at the developer, 'Yokoyama,' for the repetitive manual labor. However, after further investigation and checking the game records, the mystery was solved: the feature wasn't cancelled, it was simply time-gated to launch on the following Monday.

The community remains skeptical of the Japanese operation (often attributed to Yostar), noting that recent updates have been consistently lackluster. It seems the Japanese server is simply lagging behind the original schedule, forcing players to wait for the weekly reset.
