Official 'Double-Cross': 'Summon & Synthesis 2' Nerfs Paid Items as 'Display Bugs'

'Summon & Synthesis 2' was once highly regarded, reaching a 9.2 rating on TapTap thanks to the reputation of its predecessor, but it has recently plummeted to a 6.0 rating. A player recently reported that after investing over 2,000 RMB in an AFK-farming item, the developers effectively neutered it in a recent update.

Before the update, the item was advertised as providing a '120% increase in drop rates.' The player had calculated that, based on this, it would take over ten months to break even. Post-update, the stat was slashed to 33%. The developers claimed the original value was merely a 'display bug' and insisted the actual yield hadn't changed. This response caused an outcry, with the player sarcastically noting they had effectively bought an item that would now take over five years to pay for itself.

The official response in community forums was tone-deaf. Instead of offering compensation, they told the player to 'just check the output, it's the same.' Community members responded with outrage, comparing the situation to paying for premium tea only to be served a cheap tea bag, and calling the tactic 'false advertising' and a clear bait-and-switch.

In the comments section, many advised the player to report the game to consumer protection agencies. Users generally agree that even if it were a legitimate bug, selling an item based on false stats and then refusing refunds after a unilateral nerf is unacceptable. The developer's inability to handle the crisis professionally has further alienated their loyal fanbase.
