Around the launch of the 2.0 version for the Tower of Fantasy global server, the community has once again fallen into a cycle of daily drama. The core of this conflict lies in changes to character 'Wills' (equivalent to signature weapons in other titles).
The issue began with the 'Revolver' character, whose Will description stated it restored one dodge charge every 3 dodges. After the 2.0 update, players noticed this was stealth-nerfed to 4 dodges without any mention in the patch notes. When questioned, the publisher claimed, 'The text description was wrong, the actual intended effect is 4.'
In a comical turn of events, following massive player backlash, the publisher added a 'patch' to their own announcement, claiming: 'The previous statement was incorrect; the Revolver's Will is indeed intended to trigger every 3 dodges, and we will fix it.' This contradictory behavior, repeatedly flip-flopping on official claims, has left the community baffled.
This is not the first time the operations team has faced such scrutiny: early character Nemesis had discrepancies between text and gameplay which were 'fixed' by changing the text; a powerful unintended technique for the dual-blade character was purged; and the character Frigg had text that downplayed her actual strength. Such erratic management has led many players to feel that the developers are treating them like fools.
Additionally, commenters noted other issues on the global server: inconsistent operation strategies across regions (e.g., only some servers saw the reset of double-purchase bonuses), unfair distribution of Twitch drops, and recurring localization bugs, all of which have turned the Reddit community into a boiling pot of controversy.
