Recently, another mobile title has hit the end of the road. 'Pride of Eden,' a beast-ear themed mobile game known for its 'Dota-style' gameplay, has officially announced the shutdown of its Chinese server.

Published by Youzu, the game initially garnered attention for its character designs. However, its post-launch performance left much to be desired. Players in the community shared their regrets, with some noting they were only two cards away from a full collection, while others remarked that after seeing titles like 'Chain Chronicle' shut down, they have learned to avoid games that show signs of an early death (colloquially known as 'baosi' or 'exploding/dying early').
As for the reasons behind the shutdown, the consensus points to three main issues: heavy-handed censorship (referred to as 'sheng-guang' or holy lights) which ruined the visuals; a perceived 'cheap' quality in the game's UI and overall polish; and disastrous operational management. Specifically, the Japanese server suffered from a 10-month drought of recycled events, and since the CN server relied on the JP version for content updates, the depletion of that pipeline essentially spelled the end.
