【Tower of Fantasy】Epic Exploit in Global Server: Hackers Remotely Loot Inventories, Official Emergency Maintenance Announced

A severe security incident has rocked the Global Server of Tower of Fantasy. Reports indicate that hackers exploited a legacy trading function left in the game's code, allowing them to forcibly steal items—including gacha resources, weapons, and rare materials—directly from other players' backpacks.

The exploit came to light through a rather ironic 'hacker-vs-hacker' situation: a second hacker exposed the vulnerability, aiming to force the developers to fix it after witnessing the abuse. The bug has since been verified by users on Reddit and other forums. The official team responded by announcing emergency maintenance on Twitter, citing 'lost items in certain scenarios' as the reason, with a meager compensation of 200 Black Nucleus offered so far.

The community response has been intense, with fans dubbing the game 'Gua-Ta' (literally 'Melon Tower' or 'Drama Tower,' implying a game constantly producing fresh drama). Many were shocked by the poor state of the Global code, noting that this bug had reportedly been fixed in the Chinese 2.0 client, suggesting a messy integration of old and new code. Players are sarcastically labeling it a truly 'unprecedentedly open' world, highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
