Minor Drama: Bloodline Mobile's new character Pandora sparks outrage over 'Fate Link' mechanics

0 热度

The mobile game 'Bloodline' (Xuezu) is facing backlash from its player base. The game's 'Fate Link' system, which allows characters to unlock powerful skills by pairing with specific teammates, has become a point of contention. The new limited Water-element character, 'Pandora,' requires players to link with a low-tier, unpopular limited character named 'Rain' to reach her full potential.

'Rain' is widely considered a 'useless' character (or 'Renxiaren' - a community slang for bottom-tier characters) with extremely low ownership rates. By forcing this link, the developers have effectively made it impossible for F2P (Free-to-Play) players to access Pandora's full power. When confronted, the lead designer stubbornly refused to change it, citing 'lore consistency.' This tone-deaf response has sparked an wave of protests across the game's community forums.

Players quickly debunked the 'lore' excuse, noting that many other characters in the game are linked to random or original characters that have no logical connection to their established storylines, proving that the developer's justification is likely just a pretext for aggressive monetization.

In the comment section, a player compared the situation to a hypothetical scenario in 'Genshin Impact,' where a character's constellation progress would be locked behind the ownership of another weak, unpopular limited character. Meanwhile, some long-time observers were simply surprised that the game is still running, noting that such 'pay-to-win' and forced-gacha design mechanics have been a controversial tradition for this title for years.
