Recently, the Xuhui District government released its list of projects receiving cultural industry funding, which caught the attention of the gaming community. Five major developers were included, among them Mihoyo, FunPlus, and Coconut Island Games.

The NGA community response was mixed. Many users pointed out that this news was already 'Martian' (internet slang for outdated news, meaning it's old enough to have traveled from Mars). There was also significant friction regarding the inclusion of Coconut Island, specifically due to the game 'Jianan Baijingtu' (Hundred Scenes of Jiangnan), which faced intense backlash in the past for its depiction of historical figures—a situation for which some players labeled the studio as 'Han Jian' (a derogatory term for someone perceived as a traitor or having problematic political stances). Beyond the controversy, some players took the opportunity to express frustration over the ongoing game license freeze, sarcastically pleading for new approvals.
