Magia Record Offline Version Revealed: A Thoughtful Farewell or Just a Hollow Gesture?

Recently, the official team for 'Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story' released a detailed plan for their offline version (Ver.2.2.1). Players are required to download the client and log in before the October 12th shutdown to archive their account data locally. Once the servers are off, the game will enter an 'Appreciation Mode,' providing access only to character profiles without voice lines or gameplay content.
The community sees this as a double-edged sword. Some fans point out a unique benefit: if you can borrow an account from a 'whale' (high-spending/top-tier player) to log in once, you can essentially permanently store their full collection in your offline app. While it requires trust, it serves as a meaningful way to preserve the collection.
However, many players remain unimpressed, labeling the offline version as 'pointless.' The criticism highlights that without voice lines or Live2D dynamic visuals, the experience is barely better than browsing ripped asset videos.
A heated debate erupted regarding why the company chooses to shut down servers rather than keeping them alive, with some arguing that maintenance costs are 'peanuts' for a large corporation. Cynics countered with a harsh reality check: 'Would you pay a monthly salary to an employee who does absolutely nothing?' This clash between corporate pragmatism and the emotional value of legacy games has become the defining sentiment of this shutdown.
