Recently, community discussions regarding the operational decisions of 'Girls' Frontline' have heated up again. Just as players were lamenting that the developers had 'ruined a good game' and that the 'Damaged Art' (the special sprite displayed when a character's health drops low) was gone for good, the official account unexpectedly announced its restoration.

However, the response has been lukewarm. Many point out that servers outside mainland China never removed these assets, yet those versions still suffered a decline in popularity. Critics argue that the game's struggle stems from deep-rooted issues: stale gameplay, poor storytelling, and mismanagement. Players sarcastically remarked that 'fixing the temple won't save the Buddha,' while others joked that the restored art might be heavily censored to look like 'people wrapped in winter coats.' Many feel that aside from the characters themselves being free, almost every other system in the game—from inventory to unit slots—is designed to be a pay-to-win trap, failing to retain a player base.
