【Hearthstone Drama】Battlegrounds Pass Changes: Forced Real-Money Payments for Hero Selection Spark Backlash

0 热度

The hero selection mechanic in Battlegrounds has always been a point of contention. Previously, players could use 1500 in-game gold (roughly equivalent to 15 card packs) to unlock the Battlegrounds Pass, increasing their hero choices from two to four. For free-to-play users, 'grinding' for this pass had become standard practice.

However, a midnight announcement from Blizzard sparked community outrage: the Battlegrounds Pass will now require real money. Given the game's historically poor balance, tying additional hero slots to a paywall has been slammed by players as blatant 'Pay-to-Win.' Blizzard’s official Q&A defended the move, citing a need for revenue to fund 'ambitious update plans,' but the player base remains unconvinced.

In the comment section, players were quick to voice their frustration. Many compared the move to the controversial hero-selection system in 'Sanguosha' (often mocked as 'Gouka' for its greedy monetization), ridiculing Blizzard developers for breaking their word. Others pointed out that given the game's miserable state of balance—specifically the flawed armor system—forcing players to pay for a 'better' selection experience is a blatant slap in the face to the community.
