Recently, the gaming media outlet 3DM published an article titled 'After Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, miHoYo Starts Plagiarizing Elden Ring,' which has sparked intense debate in the community.
The article was met with immediate backlash on forums like NGA. The primary criticism centered on 3DM's own history with software piracy. Players mocked the site, stating, 'A piracy site writing about plagiarism?' and '3DM built its brand on piracy; how dare they criticize others without looking in the mirror first?'
Beyond the irony, players pointed out laughable errors in the article's content. The text claimed that the 'Honkai Impact 3rd' character 'Mei' had sword skills similar to Vergil’s. However, fans immediately noted that in the game, 'Mei' (Dr. Mei) is a totally different character from Raiden Mei (the one with the sword skills), exposing the author's complete lack of community knowledge.

In response, many players dismissed the article as a 'twisted form of affection' or a desperate grab for traffic. Users joked that following such a source would be embarrassing, and others warned that the fate of previous companies that tried 'black-red marketing' (using controversy for exposure) against miHoYo is already common knowledge.
