The 'Shiranui' Guild Bug Scandal in Onmyoji: From Exploit to Digital Harassment

0 热度

Recently, a player inquired on the forum about the controversy surrounding the 'Shiranui' guild during the 'Zai Zhan' (a fan-vote/support event) in Onmyoji. It was discovered that the guild exploited a game bug to acquire 16 million medals, unfairly boosting their ranking and displacing other guilds.

Initially, the developer's response was to only deduct 1 million medals, a lenient punishment that many perceived as biased. Players mocked the situation, noting that the guild still kept a net gain of 15 million. Despite later increasing the penalty to 9 million, affected guilds felt the resolution was insufficient and unfair.

The situation escalated further when some members of the Shiranui guild engaged in extreme harassment. They changed their profile pictures to the word 'Dian' (meaning funeral/memorial) and posted black-and-white photos of characters from the victimized guilds in their profiles—a toxic practice known as 'setting up a digital altar.' This behavior, reminiscent of the worst fan-culture toxicity, has completely ruined the reputation of the Shiranui guild within the community.
